Everytime I browse 2p2 there’s thread after thread of folding top pair. I start playing, determined to get it right, yet somehow I just can’t fold AQ when it hits a flop. Over and over again!
So, would everyone fold these;

No results shown, can you guess whether they beat me? (oh, of course they fucking did, because I have no fold button!)

hand 1/ I’d have 3-bet a little more pre, and also c-bet that flop. BTN could certainly flat a weaker king or a hand like JJ on tht board. Check calling is fine though, especially since most micro players would fire their entire range when checked to. When he checks back the turn I like your river bet but when he ships I think this decision is hugely dependent on the villain. So much money has gone in already that calling can never be a huge mistake IMO. Even though there’s not a lot villain can be representing. Against a complete nit though a fold is prob fine. Did you have any reads?
hand 2/ On that flop I’m never folding QQ. Once you’ve fired the flop IMO you have put too much money in to ever fold. To be honest if you lost both these hands I’d personally put it down to coolers. Would love to hear the opinions of a better player than I though…?
I think on the first hand I check-called the flop because it was so dry – leading out or check-raising would have pushed out everything I beat and I wanted another street of value. Having said that I should have bet-fold the turn since it put a lot of draws there suddenly (or is that bet-shove because of draws?). No reads, it was Rush and he’d only played 4 hands with me. The river seemed such a blank that it seemed like the villain was just trying to buy the pot. Unfortunately he’d made a FH with 77′s.
It’s gone badly again tonight, although I don’t think I made too many errors. Still, that’s emptied the Full Tilt account. I might transfer from my PokerStars account just to keep clearing the bonus on FT plus rakeback seems better than the VPP thing on PS.
