A couple of posts ago I said I wasn’t losing too badly, just losing out to rake since I couldn’t get past 50% ITM. Well I checked my stats a bit closer and turns out I am losing so far this month;
Most of it is shitty win one, lose one zigzagginess. None of it seems to bear any relation to whether my opponents were any good or not, even the fools who check every button won their fair share. One of them today made an awesome laydown though;

Admittedly shoving that river seems remarkably spewy since there aren’t many hands that would call, and he was also extremely passive – but that passivity was so extreme that I was convinced he really really liked his hand (I know turn bet was small, but *any* turn bet after he called was big strength from this guy). He tanked for quite a while before folding. I dunno if I would have had that strength…
That game was annoying in the end because I had him pinned down to < 500 chips for ages and he kept on clinging on, winning some flips back to equal stacks and then my 66 lost to his AK.
Here's another hand that shocked me. Different player, this time someone who raised their buttons and you'd expect more regular lines. Maybe flat calling a 3bet pre with aces is a much better move that 4betting or shoving?

Anyway, to the point of the title of this post – essentially I had two heaters this year, one at $10 games and the other at $30. The money from the $30s is blown away now, and my wins show I’m back to the point after the 4man $10s heater. It’s a pretty solid decline for the last 3 months. Those heaters raised my expectations, and it’s painful facing the reality that I’m not really winning at heads up.
I wish I knew where the holes are in my game. It was a lot more fun when I was winning…

Hey, could you tell me how you add hand histories in this format? Thanks
I use weaktight to make it 2p2 format, then use this page;
http://www.meteoricpoker.com/convert2p2.php
It isn’t working well for me. At first, the images were a lot bigger on my blog and it didn’t look as nice as it did on your blog.
Then, I added a title, and the converter seems to be broken. I even erased the title, but now it doesn’t work at all. The output is just text like a normal hand with no images. How do I get in touch with you? AIM/Skype?
Ohhh never mind, I forgot to convert it on weaktight after I added the title. But still, the images come out a lot bigger than the text
I’m at work so not on skype unfortunately.
Got a link where you tried it? I’ll have a look for you
Here you go, this is how it looks-
http://i31.tinypic.com/oh659w.jpg
ah, I see. Your blog’s setting a style for images that give it that shadow.
Ok, I modified my hand conversion page so that it removes the style for the suits, so try and convert the hand again on http://www.meteoricpoker.com/convert2p2.php
I tried it out on my blogger site with the same site design as you have; http://meteoricpoker.blogspot.com/2010/07/testing-no-limit-holdem-tournament-2.html and it seems ok
Awesome, that works. Could you tell me how to add the neat little box around it as well?
Thanks a lot for the help BTW
no problem, what goes round comes round
go to the template designer, click on Advanced on the left. Scroll down the different things you can change and select Add CSS.
In the text box paste the following;
.handhistory {
background:url(“http://www.meteoricpoker.com/toprightcorner.gif”) no-repeat scroll 99% 1% transparent;
border:4px double #AAAAAA;
margin:20px;
padding:20px;
}
and click Apply to Blog (top right).
The colour of the box is the line starting with border – go here for codes to use, and you change double to dotted solid double or dashed. The background:url line is for the pic of a spade in top right of box if you want to change that.
oh, and if you set a title when you convert the hand to html, the style is called handhistory2, so if you use that then you need to add that text twice to the css (and call the second one .handhistory2)
