I’ve enabled my forum http://www.meteoricpoker.com/forum/ just as a friendly place to chat. I’m not expecting much traffic from it, but maybe it’ll be useful for somewhere us bloggers can whinge about bad beats at the very least. Feel free to vent, spew or whatever you want to do in a forum
I fired up some more $5 HUSNGs and carried on crushing people
First two went reasonably well, then I picked up an opponent who couldn’t let it go and I beat him 3 times before he finally gave up.
Unfortunately luck runs out, and I started running into hands like this;
($1,560)
Hero ($1,440) Dealt to Hero J
Hero raises to $60, calls $40
FLOP ($120) A
Q
7
checks, Hero bets $80, calls $80
TURN ($280) A
Q
7
8
bets $140, Hero calls $140
RIVER ($560) A
Q
7
8
5
bets $300, Hero raises to $600, raises to $1,280 (AI), Hero calls $560 (AI)
Hero shows J
3![]()
(Pre 43%, Flop 71.0%, Turn 84.1%)
shows 2
K![]()
(Pre 57%, Flop 29.0%, Turn 15.9%)
wins $2,880
Just knew I should have raised that turn – one card left to beat me, and there it was.
Anyway, I gave up after 5 losses in a row, feeling that tilt was probably going to get the better of me.
Early days, but this is looking a lot better than cash games – as long as I don’t go on a 5 game losing streak again I can definitely rack up money quicker than my swingy 6max game…

I know you’re only into a small sample at HU sngs, but don’t be too surprised by 5 losses in a row (shark scope says my longest HUSNG losing streak is 8). While it may appear to be an easy game, it really won’t be too different from cash games. Unless you’re a better tourney player than cash player (and that is not uncommon among a great number of players out there) you will likely see things evening out in the long run.
so my losing streak of 5 comes close to the biggest losing streak you’ve ever had?!
I know what you’re saying though, and it’s very true. Having a winning streak of 10 games on my first time out in HUSNG land was probably a bad thing and set my expectations too high.
