First day of playing sites in parallel. I hadn’t had time to deposit on UB, so this morning was just Pokerstars and Full Tilt (PS didn’t have a lot in the account either, only $22, so need to deposit there later).
I figured I might as well play them at the same time – that’s probably the best way of roughly matching number of hands played. Table selection was a bit cumbersome since you when you enter waiting lists you have to be selective when they come up so that each site has equal number of tables showing. Once I’d got two tables of each running it settled down.
Started out great – one hand with AA was really nice. Other guy had JJ and I was really pleased with my bet sizing in order not to scare him off and ultimately stack him – I remember feeling very smug at that point. I ran up my winnings up to 2 buy-ins ($20), but then it started going downhill.
First bad hand was a semi-bluff being called and not hitting. Lesson here is know your opponent I guess – they have to be capable of laying down at least top pair, and I didn’t know enough about this guy to say whether he could or not. Board was Qxx rainbow, I had an OESD. He raised on flop and turn, and then I shoved. It was a big shove too, we were a bit deep. It would surely scare any Qx hands (maybe not AQ, although it ought to), only sets should call. He called with KQ and I lost $12. FPS loses again.
Then AK lost to a medium stack on an A2X3 board – he had 45s. AJ on a xxxxJ board lost to the most passively played KK ever. Then finally AQ shoved on a 75Q two tone board was called by AJ – turn was a Jack.
So, from up $20 crashed down to -$11. Uninteresting bad beat story I know. Does demonstrate that it’s going to take a while to clearly show the best site, and not just the most (un)lucky site.
FT (136 hands): $1.33
PS (153 hands): -$12.35
ps. I’d forgotten I had a Party Poker account. I might add that in the mix – have to decide now or it will fall behind in hands. Supposed to be a very fishy site, but no rakeback. Might be good for the comparison…

Not played party NL10 but NL5 is pretty soft. But I only played 1000 hands for some stupid like 50bb/100. you need 400 party points to release $10 and I think I managed to get about 5 points for that 1000 hands.
