I’m definitely beginning to think weekends are fantastic for poker (at least during UK daytime anyway).
It was a bit shaky to begin with. There’s a lot of enthusiastic bet sizing going on, and it’s easy to get drawn into a hand that’s not worth the pot and lose a chunk. At the same time it’s easy to make your big hands pay off (a lot too!). So initially I was throwing money to people who were hitting their cards on the turn or river, like this hand;
6 players
Stacks:
UTG ($7.70)
UTG+1 ($10.00)
Hero (CO) ($27.00)
BTN ($3.85)
SB ($4.30)
BB ($10.00)
Pre-flop: ($0.15, 6 players) Hero is CO 6
7
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.40, Hero calls $0.40, BTN calls $0.40, 2 folds
Flop: 8
9
2
($1.35, 3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $1.50, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $4, BTN goes all-in $1.95
Turn: J
($8.80, 2 players)
River: 7
($8.80, 2 players)
Final Pot: $8.25
Hero shows: 6
7
BTN shows: K
J
Hero wins $0.55 ( lost -$3.85 )
BTN wins $7.85 ( won +$4.00 )
UTG+1 lost -$0.40
Maybe you find my semi-bluff with that OESD a bit dubious, but villain wasn’t much of a player and his flop raise looked a lot like a squeeze, especially as he bet more than pot. So when the MP folded, it seemed a nice moment for a check-raise, but the idiot called and went on to hit one of his 6 pathetic outs.
There was one hand that I misplayed really really badly – pocket 8′s that didn’t improve, but I got caught up in a bluffing mess and over committed myself. It got to the turn and I was left with a $3 call for a $15 pot and had to go with it. Miraculously I hit a fourth heart on the board giving me a flush and I won. Poor bastard
Anyway, my lifetime graph is looking very good now (relatively speaking) – I’m within spitting distance of breaking even!

I probably have already made it back into the black if I include bonuses, but since they’re not on the graph they don’t count.
More to come this weekend hopefully. Onwards and Upwards!
ps. Yegor, I reckon you can have your money back now + some interest. Rub it on your titties if you must
more stuff: Didn’t want to start a new post quite yet, so adding more here. I’ve just noticed the security settings on PS, and see that I can get a PIN plus an RSA number generator. Except I can’t get the keygenerator as I’ve only 200 FPP while I need 6000! Some patience required there I think! (plus the measely $$$ in my account is hardly a big deal).
Still, I’d like my account to be secure, there’s too many stories of hacked accounts not to consider it. The worst thing of it all though is that your email account is a huge weak link in all of this – anyone gets access to that and you’re screwed. It’s too easy for them to do things like ‘forgot password’ etc and get access to your account. How paranoid do you need to be? I guess what I really need is some kind of key protection for my email – I use them for my SSH access to my personal servers (yes, I have personal servers – impresses the girls no end!) although they’re text keys rather than fancy dongle things. Just a thought…
Update: Had some lunch and then went back to the tables. I guess all the good people have woken up now as I didn’t make any more headway;
Nasty scare towards the end where I had JJ against a maniac (92/63!) – I had 3bet preflop, he called and the flop showed a king – we carried on with him taking a huge pot and showing K7o! He then proceeded to give my money away to everyone else at the table. I recouped with a nice 3-way pot where I had an ace-high flush (nice apart from the villains folding the river – it’s hard to know when you’re being heavy handed or not), and also a two pair hand where the villain was a complete bluffy idiot.

Nice post, and YES UK peak time = most donks
What does that say about us UK players :-/
