Perhaps should have done this from the beginning, it’s not like I’ve ever followed proper BR management before. After finally recouping my 5NL losses and getting back to the original $30, I thought why bother sticking $5 on a 2NL table when I can put it on a 10NL table (well the reason’s obvious, but I refused to listen myself). So, had a session back at 10NL;
Cautious at first, when you lose below your initial buy-in and it reloads automatically it’s quite easy not to know how much you’re down by (results orientated, but then playing outside your BR I can’t see how you can’t be). I also realised I joined some bad tables, so I moved a few times. Then it started paying off nicely.
One thing though – playing first thing in the morning pre-coffee can be -EV, as this hand shows;
6 players
Stacks:
UTG ($12.70)
UTG+1 ($13.50)
Hero (CO) ($8.80)
BTN ($2.65)
SB ($1.45)
BB ($6.35)
Pre-flop: ($0.15, 6 players) Hero is CO 7
A
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.30, 1 fold, BB calls $0.20
Flop: 5
6
3
($0.95, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, BTN checks
Turn: 4
($0.95, 3 players)
BB bets $0.30, Hero calls $0.30, BTN calls $0.30
River: T
($1.85, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $0.60, BB folds, Hero folds
Final Pot: $1.85
BTN wins $2.40 ( won +$1.20 )
BB lost -$0.60
Hero lost -$0.60
Hero suddenly realises what he just folded.
I’m expecting the collusion accusations from PS any day now…
Update: Doubled my BR – not many times you get to say that;

That tiny little drop at the end is actually a whole $10 buy-in. My QQ hit its set on the flop, but unfortunately the villain’s KK also hit his set!
Beside the obvious cash profit I’m really pleased with this – no suckouts (by me), nice +ve redline – couldn’t be more textbook!

Noice little run. very noice. It’s a nice feeling when it comes together over just a few hundred hands
haven’t been here for a while. i guess i’ve missed THE day when your “win rate magically transformed into a meteoric rise”
nh sir
Maybe I should stop blogging now, just to leave this one on the front page
