That was a struggle. I ended up in a few more sticky calls than I would have liked, mainly from calling stations OOP who didn’t respond to a CBet on the flop. A couple of times they went to the river and I felt that I had no choice but to put in a 1/2 pot sized bet at least to make sure they wouldn’t call. If they hadn’t got zero PFR I wouldn’t have done that, but it usually worked (in a very unpleasant scary way).
Nevertheless it still didn’t end up positive at the end of the day – I had to call a 60c bet on the river of the very last hand, and I couldn’t stop myself from doing it. Consequently I ended up down at the end of the session!
If only i hadn’t lost that hand in the middle, and looking back it was avoidable. It definitely came under the Baluga theorem – I had TPGK with AQ (top pair being aces), and put in a pot sized bet on the turn. Villain reraised me which I clicked back, and he called (all-in). He had hit a set on the flop, and as the Baluga theorem says that a raise on the turn usually means top pair (or even two pair) is beat. Shoulda listened, and certainly shouldn’t have made such a big pot with only TPGK
Not very satisfying. I wasn’t particularly tighter either at 27/23, although at least the PFR is a good value. I don’t recall playing any hands outside my starting hands chart, so that could be down to randomness rather than me being undisciplined…
